Improved Cookstoves, precursors to Agro-Energy Business Estates (ECOHUBS) in rural Africa.

Income from CO2 reduction with cookstoves is limited. Income from CO2 removal & use (CDR) through ECOHUBS is substantial growing step-wise every year.

Call for paradigm shift and holistic systems level partnerships that unite Africa and Europe through CO2 removal & use based Ecosystems of Shared Value

In her address to the Summit on Clean Cooking in Africa, Dymphna van der Lans, CEO of the Clean Cooking Alliance, called for a paradigm shift and holistic systems level partnerships that unite diverse stakeholders to address all dimensions of the improved cookstove challenge.

Twelve Dutch SME’s (small) contribute in a holistic level partnership

their unique knowledge, inventions, intellectual property, and innovation capacity to the development of the “ECOHUB ecosocial CO2 removal & use systems solution”. They offer ECOHUB for consideration to the Clean Cooking Alliance in the form of:

  • a blueprint-plan for ECOHUB Agro-Energy Estates to be planned, funded, build, owned and operated by up to 200 African women smallholders per ECOHUB

  • qualified women from The Global North will through modern media and otherwise participate in, and contribute to, the planning, funding and operation of ECOHUBS

African women smallholder’s LIVES are bettered by their using improved cookstoves !

African women smallholders lives and FUTURES are bettered by joining ECOHUBS (within walking distance form where they live)

ECOHUBS facilitate the stepwise build-out of self-contained systems for the processing of biomass and sun based commercial products, including but not limited to:

  1. sorghum grains

  2. carbon dioxide removals (CDR)

  3. regenerated soils

  4. fuel pellets made from farm refuse

  5. concentrated solar power

  6. biomass derived power

  7. biochar

  8. wood vinegar

  9. pyrolysis oil

  10. bio-methanol

  11. hydrogen

The planning/funding of ECOHUBS is eased by the early formation of a holistic systems level partnership that unites diverse stakeholders (ecosystem of shared value). It is essential that such partnerships are created in advance, preferably during the period the cookstoves are arranged.

ECOHUBs qualify paradigm shift for cookstoves as called for by Dymphna van der Lans, CEO of the Clean Cooking Alliances because use is made of the contacts and goodwil of the cookstove team.

for themselves and their children), ECOHUBS make it possible to make over a number of years six+ lives and future bettering steps by daily learning and doing.

ECOHUBS build on the groundwork which is laid in the course of introducing cookstoves, benefits from cookstove carbon avoidance accounting systems which are in place and from the time the women have available ,

In a sense ECOHUBs constitute paradigm shifts because it turns it transforms the one introduction of a cookstove in to a stepwise (6) introduction, to the women smallholders, of a secure living wage producing business facility.
